Proposition 34 Training

Training Days for to promote passing Prop 34~~ September 15 and 22nd
************************************
Archbishop José Gomez and the Catholic Bishops of California have decided to promote passing Proposition 34 which is on the ballot in November.  Prop 34 is the initiative that will replace the death penalty in California with life in prison without the possibility of parole.  The bishops see this as an important moral and life issue.

In the Archdiocese of Los Angeles the Offices of Justice and Peace, Restorative Justice, and Respect Life are working together to promote life issues, and coordinate efforts to pass Prop 34.  Parishes are asked that RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY (October 7) be used to join in kicking off these efforts through homilies, bulletin and pulpit announcements, voter registration, voter education sessions, and similar efforts throughout October.

To prepare parishes to coordinate these efforts, we have organized several training sessions for two Saturdays this month in different locations to make it convenient for people.  We would like to ask for two people designated from each parish to be trained – please designate two representatives from your parish to attend (they are asked to attend only ONE of any of these sessions).
