Lent is the period starting from Ash Wednesday (last Wednesday) until Holy Thursday for Ctaholics and some other Christians. It is a time to prepare for the joy of Easter and also try to become a better person. For Catholics, it als means some days of abstaining from meat (Fridays as wel as Ash Wednesday) and fasting (at least Ash Wednesday). Soem Catholics give up soemthing for Lent as a small sacrifice; others make an effort to be better.
