If you feel you may qualify under President Obama's new immigration status policy, now is the time to gather documents like school records.
The government has not released the requirements yet; but, you can be prepared.
Right
now there is no clear guidance on how to apply for deferred action.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has promised to have
an application
process ready to go by August 15.
The
thing to do right now is to gather documents that prove your identity,
that you have lived here since June 15 of 2007 and that you have been in
school.
When the application process is open you need to make sure that it is
safe for you and your family to apply for deferred action.
CHIRLA is preparing a mailing to students but it will also have information posted on the website at
www.chirla.org Check it out. It is constantly being updated with the latest information.
